Komaneka at Bisma is part of Komaneka Resorts in Ubud, and a collection of boutique hotels.
We stayed 3 nights at Komaneka at Bisma, as our first accommodation in Bali. I’d stayed in Ubud (although not at Komaneka, which wasn’t around at the time) about 3 years ago, and I have to say it’s become much, much busier and more touristy place. I was very glad that we’d chosen this place to stay as I loved being away from the center of town. It was not too far from main street of Ubud, only about 10-minute walk. There is a shuttle to the town for free as well.
The reception area was very quiet but very pretty. Friendly staff welcomed me with a drink and a refreshing towel, while they quickly completed my registration. I joined my friend in our room, and we both went to the restaurant for a well deserved meal. There was a beautiful view, from the restaurant balcony, of the lush grounds and the hotel’s main pool. Hotel is well fitted in to the surrounding nature. The Komaneka is built into a valley of sorts and has its own rice terrace. How cool is that!
Our room was magnificent, well-appointed and laid out in a way that was just perfect for our needs. Beds where super comfortable. We had a walk-in closet that also served as a small luggage room. Rooms have everything you will need, including straw hats, bug sprays, and flashlights. There was a cookie jar constantly filled with what tasted like homemade mini-cookies. Komaneka nightgowns stole my heart. The bathroom was enormous, you could have held a small party in it. We had standalone bath area and a separate glass enclosed shower. There were dual vanities with plenty space for our morning routine. The balcony looked out on the lush green grounds. That night we went to sleep pretty early, and next day we wake up to the stunning jungle like views from our room. We didn’t want to leave and we had our breakfast on the balcony. There’s nothing like early morning wiyh bird sounds and tasty breakfast with freshly squeezed juice. It was delicious. Breakfast is included in your rate, and offers a good variety of Balinese, Indonesian and Western choices. We made sure to enjoy ourselves, and we made good use of the outdoor infinity pool. Staff were exceptional, very helpful and welcoming. They anticipated our needs without asking. Everyone at the hotel greeted us with a smile wherever we went.
We decided to take advantage of The Hotel Spa on the second day, and it was the best spa day we’ve experienced in Bali. Not only the spa is located in the most beautiful spot but massages itself where amazing.
If you are going to Ubud, and you are looking for high standard all round experience, then this is the place to pick. I rate this hotel a perfect score of 10.
